Holley Carb for 454 LS6 "clone"
I recently replaced the Qjet that the PO installed with an adapter plate since my car has ls6 intake, heads, and pistons. Don't know what cam the guy put in there. The car ran fine with plenty of power, however the qjet adapter has always bothered me, so I picked up a holley 850 vac secondaries brand new that came from a ZZ 502 crate motor. The car idles great, runs strong, but hesitates when I mash the throttle while rolling about 25 mph, unless I am first gear. With the Qjet, no matter what gear I was in, if I hit the gas, the thing would jump up, I swear the front wheels came of the ground almost. Is this carb too big, or is that just the way it is with holleys and the larger primaries. Does not have the same throttle response that the qjet had.
