rare heads and intake, help I D
i know somebody that has what he claims to be a set of 67 corvette heads, dual carb intake and carbs. the heads have a double humps at the end. they also have the casting number 3782461. the heads have screw in studs and guide plates.
the intake has gm stamped on it and some numbers but i did not get those numbers, its also aluminum. where you mount the carbs looks weird. it's like the number 8 with nothing in the middle and two holes to the side of the 8, like o8o.
the carbs are four barrel but i have never seen them before. they kinda of look like my dads old 65 malibu 327 ss four barrel carb, only theres two of them. they are very square looking. they are not like the edelbrock style, holley, or quadrajet carbs that im familiar with. the carbs look pretty complete.
anyway, im trying to find out how much to offer him for this stuff. he wants around 500 for it. want do you guys think its worth?

The 461 heads were used on 1966 Corvettes and might have other GM applications.
The dual carb set up could be from anywhere. Part numbers will help identify it.

Don't take this in a negative way, but why do you want a price of value to buy these when you don't even know what they are! Any way you may need to show a picture of what these are for anyone to help you out here. The carbs could be anything from stock to after market. There use to be some carbs out there called "Predators" they looked like a square box almost, so pictures will help to identify what you have or are trying to buy!!

461 heads were made by the bazillions and used in '64-'66 for 327s. Worth a few bucks for somebody worrying about numbers and dates but not so special from a performance point of view.

The 461 heads were used on 61 Corvette 283 FI engines, and all 62-66 Corvette 327's (except the 62-64 base 250HP). I also believe that 62-66 passenger cars with the 327/300 and the 66 Nova 327 L-79's, used them and many more were sold over the counter by GM. The screw in studs and guides are not original to the heads, so someone has been into the heads.
The intake and carbs you describe sound like the 56-61 Chevrolet factory 2x4 set ups. These were aluminum 2x4 intakes that used Carter WCFB carbs. The casting numbers were 3728725 and 3731394 for 1956, and 3739653 for 57-61. The carb holes you describe, are exactly how they appear on those intakes.
If your father's 65 Malibu had a 250 horse 327 in it, then the carb would be look the same. 56-61 factory 2x4 set ups and all 62-65 327/250's used Carter WCFB carbs.
The 2x4 set up could be worth the $500, especially if the carbs are a correct matched set for the intake.
