Hey Paul - I just noticed that you do not have the water diverter shields (like in Easy Mike's AIM # 16)... interesting.

My '68 coupe has the earlier c-2 style as described.
It was assembled on June 12, 1968 and considered a late car.
I think during the transitional years it was more of parts clean up. If they had em left over they used em until supply was exhausted. That's how the gun industry works and I got to figure any assy line is similar. For '69, I see cars both coupe and rag tops with the boat style brass wedge as seen in the pics posted on the white car.
They are called door alignment wedges and can be found by googling on amazon. Prices range from $49-$59.00. Hope this helps. 1 on my drivers door is broken in half so I need a new set. They do wear out evidently from closing and openng the door for the last 43 years.
