If you are referring to the triangular shaped splash shields at the bottom of the fender (door side) both my '68s had them.

I thought he was reffering to the built in lower outer "flare" things at the bottom of the fenders. My error.

You may very well be right, I'm not really sure what bolt on outer spalsh guards are.

Correct. My 68 has a pair. Check the AIM; they're shown.

thanks everyone, my car has the metal splash shields that attach from the frame to a metal bracket riveted to the floor. Wilcox Corvette part no. 33673.

i was referring to parts 7170 & 7168 from paragon corvette it shows only from 1970-79 front outer splash shield. I think my 68 had them . i am trying to find out if yes are they available.

thanks Bruce

Also besides these 2 outers, there are the 2 inners, and 2 directly behind yours and your passangers feet, and 2 more shields (for heat I believe)with insulation under the floor boards on each side. My early 68 didnt have those large heat shields. No holes were ever drilled in the crosssmember to mount the brackets, and never any clips in the floors for the insulation. I bought a pair, then realized the car never had them to begin with so didnt use them.

Post a link to the Paragon pair you reference.

Careful not to confuse splash shields with heat shields. Nomenclature sometimes gets swapped around. Review the AIM pages and use the original part numbers as references when ordering parts.

68 had outer splash shield and they bolted to the frame the passenger sideis different then the driver side. If you need a picture let me know and I can pm you one. Finding original are not easy to find. At least that was my experience. It took me two years to find good used originals.
