I have a 1979 manual shift, 350 and sometimes (More often lately) I have trouble getting the car into gear. It just doesn't want to go, I really have to push. No trouble shifting once car is moving.
Would this mean I have to adjust the play on the clutch?
I also ground when placing in reverse, so I went for the adjustment.
I wish I could say it took just a couple of minutes. After about an hour I got the bolt freed and adjusted.
I moved it about 1/2 inch. Seems to work much better. Does a half an inch seem like a lot? When I let the clutch out it grabbed right away. Matter of fact it caught me off guard it started off so quick.
Interior wise my pedal has a good inch or two of free play, not a big deal but wonder if that can some how be sugged up too?
Thks
I don't know what this means.
"i wouldn't overlook the fact that the linkage needs to be aligned (adjusted) perhaps either. "
