Default convertible owners please

I'm still in the process of finishing up my '78 conversion. I've been having a terrible time trying to make the rear deck fit. I did some work to it and finally was able to squeeze it into place on the car and when I dropped the deck lid in place to check it, the fit was terrible. The deck was flat and the lid has more of a curve to it in the center so the middle sticks up to far for me.

I'm throwing up my hands at making this deck fit and am tossing it and will be ordering a new one soon. What I need form someone is a picture of the top rear of the car so I can see the deck lid in place if someone has a pic or the time to take one for me. I'm trying to figure out if there should be a curve to match the lid or whether I need a new deck lid also.

I'm a front bumper and 2 body mounts away from pulling the body off of the frame.

As you thought, the deck follows the curves of the lid. I think you need to see a convertible in person. Good luck.

I am not sure exactly what the problem is?? But here are a couple of pics I just took. Yes, there are some curves going on in that area. I can take additional pics if need be. No lid/deck fits perfectly so be kind with your comments.

Thanks for the picture, that helps. I was so intent on getting out to squeeze over the bonding strips that it would never fit with the supports underneath.
No idea who made it. Going to just buy a new one.
Thanks for taking the time to post for me.
Nice car by the way.

Thanks guys. Those pics showed me what I needed to see. Just wanted to make sure my deck lid had the correct shape and hadn't warped or something.

Nice cars. I can't wait til I can get paint on mine.

Thank you, sir. I've just about finished it. It's been a long road, but VERY gratifying.

Buy a used Chevrolet deck lid. That way you know it was made for, and fit a Corvette, at some time in the past.

Going genuine Chevrolet takes all the aftermarket guesswork out of the equation.
