Default newb- '75 question

I'm looking into buying my first 75 corvette. I've been doing a lot of reading here and feel a little more confident about what to look for, what to expect, etc.

The car i'm looking at has a cracked rear bumper (haven't seen a pic yet so I don't know how bad). worst case scenerio, how much (ball park, i know shops vary from region to region) would it take for a reputable bodyshop to paint and install the bumper?

Is there anything else I aught to be aware of? any general words of wisdom about owning these cars?

Thanks!

The last bumper I paid to have done cost me $200 for the bumper and $200 for the paint & mount. You may want to purchase a mount kit yourself in addition to the bumper before you take it somewhere. Oh, and make sure you talk to the body shop about the arrangement. Never assume anything.
