Default 77 Fuel Filter Replacement

I have a 77 with about 78k miles. To my knowledge, the fuel filter has never been changed. I attempted to get the fuel line off where it screws into the inlet but it is very tight. I used another wrench to hold the inlet bolt in place as instructed in my repair manual.

Anyone have any tricks to getting the fuel line off?

You really should have a carb inlet nut wrench and a line wrench, other wise you can strip the carb threads and round the line nut.

Add a rubber mallet to the list. You might have to give the wrench a light whack with the mallet to loosen the fitting.

I have line wrenches, but I've never heard of a carb inlet nut wrench. I"ve always just used an open end wrench of hte proper size. Can someone enlighten me?
