Default car covers, help!!??

guys, I just messed up my car cover. its the flannel indoor type. I had for a 2 years, figured it needed cleaning. so, I washed and dried at my home. big mistake. it shrunk. now it does'nt fit my vette.

here's my question. have anybody else with that same kind cover, ever wash their's? can you pass along how you did it?

thanks for your help. Please don't laugh too hard. I feel bad enough.

I ruined one in the dryer before, now when it needs washing I run it through a gentle cycle and strech it out over 6 patio chairs and let it air dry. It takes longer but it doesn't get ruined.

It should still fit a chrome bumper car.

Sorry I just had to.
I just use old bed sheets. Easier to put on and off and easier to wash.
