oh ya! I remember that first Corvette fever...I think I still have it.
its part of that love/hate relationship. I have owned my first Vette for little over 7 years now....I think I am past the 7 year hump! and I love it more than ever because I am done fixing all the stuff Buba did to it.
Also I know that this is an OLD car...and that no matter how good it looks...it is going to need SOMETHING done to it. But if the car is in decent condition...and if it does need repairs here and there and overall maintenance...how bad or how much can they possibly cost? I mean I am maintaining a 1992 Mercedes Benz 400e at the moment...and EVERYTHING on that car costs...I know they will all need something but it can't be THAT bad can it?
It could. The first C3 I drove needed a new rear and if had not had prior knowledge about what a total rear end rebuild could cost I would have been a little upset. I do as much as I can myself but a total rear end rebuild is not something I want to learn how to do. Mine also had a function convertible top but it needed replacement. I decided to get a hard top for it too....and paint it. My C3 top project is going to be close to 2500.00 when I'm done. I originally thought I could buy a soft top and do it myself for around 400. It adds up fast !
There are not a whole lot of $10K cars you can really enjoy. If you buy a used car for $10K say a 6-7 year old Camry it will be worth $2k in 3 years. The vette will be worth close to what you paid for it or perhaps more. If you don't have to depend on it for a long daily commute(40-50miles) you should buy the C3. Just do your homework and look at the cars offered here and elsewhere online to get a general idea of price. For 10K you can get a pretty nice later C3 as a daily driver.

Thanks for your input.
I actually think that I am going to do it...hell you only live once right...and who knows how long thats for...I am really excited...I have found a couple of very good candidates...for good prices...all with their quirks and flaws but none that would keep me from buying them...as soon as I know...you guys will know...
