Hello,
im new here ( here is my intro )
and i have a question, hoping someone here has experience concering this.
I want to replace my original powersteering system with a borgeson box. But i have hooker headers for sidepipes, and there is only 3mm space between gearbox and the header (down at the shaft). At the upper end i have ~8mm space to the header.
Will this be enough?
I dont want to modifiy the chromed header, because if the chrome cracks it will rust.

Success! The answer to your querie(I may have mispelled that one) is yes! I have just installed the Delphi 600 Borgesson box into my 79. I have a small block 350 that has been mated up to Hooker sidepipes. There is plenty of room on top. There is also the same 3mm of clearance between the header tube and the pitman arm shaft housing. The steering column needed to be shortened some to accomodate for the box being a little longer. All I did was to gently tap on the steering column some to collapse it back. The pitman arm doesn't go on all the way. I had to be a little creative with a file. The shaft has a slight taper to it. I filed it down some without damaging the splines, and it slide all the way up.
