Car jack
Im trying to figure out what secures the car jack in the storage container on my 80 vette. I have nothing there and want to see what it is suppose to look like so I can rig it up. Does anyone have any pics of there own?

the owner's manual or the AIM would show show you that there is a spring "mechanism" that connect to the raised points in the bottom of the passenger side rear compartment. it stretches over the jack and handle assembly and ties it down in the compartment.

Go to the Zip's webpage and type in jack. You will find the parts you need. Two brackets attached with pop rivets plus the aforementioned spring holder. All probably cost less than $20. I installed them on my car (also missing). I then had my jack sandblasted then I spray painted it a semi-gloss black. Looks almost new again. Worth the effort.
