Which? Either you do return parts or you do not.

I've always had great luck with Willcox. Customer service has been great. You are not going to get "perfect like OEM" parts from anyone supplier. Even the ones that use original GM tooling are using 40 year old tooling. If you want original you buy original. Fortunately for me, mine is more of a resto-mod so if it works it works.

You might note that there are several price points on these reproduction parts. If you opt for the cheapest alternative, I can almost guarantee that you will get nasty looking and ill fitting parts from the most primitive outposts of Asia. I made that mistake with arm rests for my 69 Mustang convertible. I ordered the cheapest part and what I got was literally 2" shorter than the originals. Needless to say, the attaching bolt holes didn't line up properly. These were vinyl cast parts and, apparently, the low priced producer used one of his own parts to make a new mold whenever he ran out of them. After the part had been "stepped on" several times, they were sort of a 4/5 scale model of the real thing. I wound up popping for the higher priced repro and, go figger, they were identical to the OEM parts. Lesson learned. BTW, while it's nice to imagine that our time is "too valuable" to pursue these kinds of issues, it's usually just an excuse to avoid doing anything. I don't know how many hundreds of dollars worth of crappy stuff you've kept over the years, but it's your own fault. How can you trash a vendor on this forum when you don't even give them a chance to make it right? Just sayin.

I have learned that sometimes you have to step up to the plate and pay strong money for NOS or used original parts that you can restore. Some vendors carry excellent repro parts but it is usually dependent on the type of parts. I have never heard a really heard of any one that has purchased e repro dash piece. Agood lesson to remember if the time arrives.

Missed my point...it may be perfectly fine for someone else rebuilding a driver, especially if the price is right.

if it were me I'd call the vendor, get an RMA and send it all back on the boat to china where it was probably from to begin with. Then move onto a different vendor who people here recommend.

Clubby, I for one appreciated your posts on these parts as I'm looking at redoing my interior soon. It has me doing a rethink as to how I will approach it when I do it.
