Default Stock C3 wheels

Is there any way to tell what model year a stock aluminum Corvette wheel came on? I suspect that one or more of my wheels may not be original, thanks,

Scott

Sure, give us the casting number on the back and any other markings you see.

Don't forget to give the year of your car, as well. Should be able to tell, if you can get these numbers posted.

While most of these aluminum wheels look substantially the same on the outside, the more significant differences are on the inside (brake rotor side) of the wheels. I've seen at least a half dozen different castings on the inside of these wheels, some using the same part numbers. Differences that go way beyond part numbers.

If the insides of your wheels have identical castings it is very likely that they are all from the same year car, but not necessarily your car... If one of them is substantially different, you have a replacement wheel for sure.

Here are just two examples...

Good luck... GUSTO

FWIW: the aluminum wheels were always optional at extra cost. You had to pay to get them.

For all C3s, the stock wheel was the ralley wheel.

The rally wheel was the "standard" wheel, the aluminum one was the "optional" wheel; they were both "stock".
