Has any one replaced the glass in the review mirror for an '81? Mine is really pitted; I bought a replacement from a local store, but it vibrates pretty bad. Since the original doesn't, I thought I could just replace the glass, but I'm having trouble popping it out. I've tried heating it up with a hairdryer and that seemed to help, but still couldn't get it to pop out and I cracked the plastic a little in the corners. I'm wondering if its actually glued to something and not just sitting in there. Any advice? Thanks.
My 81 in the same shape and I was wondering if I clould replace just the glass

my 74 was glued on....i was able to get the trim to the point where i was able to pry the glass off....i think i got the trim off completly, dont remember...once the trim is off the rest is easy.....i just laid the replacement glass in without glue and got the trim back on...wish i would have done it years ago....

Bought glass for my 75 (has the map light). The original is REALLY glued in. I broke the glass-removed-then the new glass goes in easy.
I originally tried the hair dryer and ended op stretching the plastic trim. Should have broken the glass first! Good luck

If they can cut a new one without needing the original, then I suppose it's not such a bad idea.
i was in safe light glass today about a chip in windshield and asked about the mirror and she looked in her book and had found a couple of options she can still order for this age of car
