A friend of mine, says that this is a 74.

That's a '80 and up nose. The rear bumper is aftermarket. You need the VIN. The car has "updated" at the very least.

Agree with 3JsVette. I think the 74 bumper was split down the middle and I don't think it had the spoiler in the front or rear. Emblems missing on the sides also.

69-77 coupe with 80-82 bumper covers. Could be a 74. Could also be a 68 if the doors have been swapped.

Well I didn't want to be too nosy and ask her for the VIN, but I will see if she wants to give that information out. Otherwise, it's not a big issue and she's very happy with the car. It just suprised me that someone would go to such lengths to modify this car.
Thanks, Steve

No vents at the back window, not a '74

Actually, a '74-'77 would be a car I'd have the fewest qualms about modifying. It's actually pretty unusual these days to find a '74 with the original-style split rear bumper-cover, as many of the cracked originals have been replaced by covers like the one on this car.

Could be 74 with the vents filled. Could be 80-82 with a replacement rear surround panel. Who knows?

Has an 80-82 nose. Could be anything from a 69 to a 77. The '74 had rear vents, but these could have been filled as extensively as this car has been modified. No way of knowing without the VIN

I did such mods to many cars back in the day...no vents, chrome windshield trim, just walkin' by I'd call it a '76...The key is "she is very happy with the car"...That's what they're about...enjoy'm

That's not a 74 front, that 80 bumper won't bolt up to a 74 front maybe a 75-77. The 73/74 went straight across between the headlights.

Right, but the side-vents look like they have the '80-'82 inserts, so I'm wondering whether the whole front clip might have been changed.

Why? If a PO went spent time and effort on the body mods, the interior could have also been swapped.

That car looks great!

Sometimes I wish my '81 didnt have the bubble window. now I know what it would look like without it.
