I believe there are 2 springs on each door handle: the one inside to hold up the lever, and the outside one to hold up the latch. I know there are temporary fixes for the internal spring, but how about the bottom, external one, is that something that is fixable?
I can't find that spring listed on any of the vette sites I've looked at. Do I really have to buy a brand new door handle just for that spring? If so, I've thought about finding the cheapest, new handle I can find and then attempt to take the spring off of the new one and put it on mine.
Go to any auto store and go to the HELP rack. There's packages of assorted springs and you can fashion one for the repair. I did this and it worked fine.
