I was changing the radio on my 72 with a new retrosound unit. No worries, when I bough it there was a crapy aftermarket cassette deck in it. But as I disassembled the dash to get to the radio I start to see some bubba signs.
I now know why I could never hear my signal flasher, it was just shoved up to the firewall (never mind the bracket was on the dash pad.)
The good news is dash speakers were newer kenwood models but then I noticed the radio wiring for power was run direct to the fusebox and not using the original wiring. (Shove wire behind fuse style) Further inspection I came across the item pictured below. This is plugged into what looks to be factory wiring the plug has a black wire, yellow/black wire, and 2 red wires. Then a white module plugged into this. Anyone know what this is for?
Some googling of the letters and numbers mentioned radio components but nothing definitive. Could this be the factory red yellow and black radio wires? If so an adaptor plug will be in order.
Thanks.
