General questions
I am new to the forum and new to the Vette world.

I've been searching for answers to what would seem to be
some very general questions but to no avail. Basically,
the questions are as follows:
1) what constitutes a factory correct restoration?
2) what constitutes an "original" restoration?
(The term seems oxymoronic.)
3) what is meant by the term "stock", eg, "I ran
the quarter mile in 6 sec flat w/ a car that is stock."
Have read a couple of books by R Prince. The second
one, Corvette Resto Guide, mentions restoration but never
defines exactly what that entails.

Thanks for your input.
Never heard the term 'original restoration' unless the person does not have English as their first language and actually means something similar to the above definition. A car can only be original once.
'Stock' in N.America means in factory original configuration, hence 'stock cars'. OK, bad example.

Thanks for your speedy reply.
So, when you attempt to return a car to the state it was
in at the time it left the factory, are you required, since
you mentioned NCRS, to use a specific parts manufacturer(s)?
That is, OEM vs "after-market"? Need I order that new
header pipe from a Chevrolet/GM-licensed manufactuer
or can I order it from Rock Auto?
I believe I came across the term "original restoration" at
the wikipedia for "automotive restoration".
