I have a '75 coupe that is completely stock inside and out.
Can anyone tell me the diameter of the stock gauges speedo, tach, etc.?
I like the look of the Autometer line of gauges, but can someone speak to any specific experience (good and otherwise) that you've had with a gauge upgrade?
I want to match them all and am in the final prep stages of removing the interior to prep for a color change, seat upgrade, new carpet, and Lizardskin.
I went with the Autometer ES gauges, ordered them from Summitt. The 2-1/16" are a perfect fit. I've got them installed in the new center bezel, just don't have them in the car yet.
Had to "modify" the back from the original gauges-I cut out each side to hold the bulbs for the warning lights. I found a bunch of info from others when I did a Forum search as suggested earlier. Good Luck!
Thanks Gator77 - That looks like a really nice install. Did you do anything with the speedo/tach or did you choose the black to match the stock speedo/tach?
Thanks! I'm playing with keeping the stock gauges and installing red bulbs to try and match the ES red look at night. I didnt want to spend the money on a new speedo and tach if I could avoid it. Autometer doesnt make a speedo and tach that will fit in the ES line. I'm hoping mine are ok; the car wasnt driveable when I bought it, and I've done the body-off resto thing. Keeping my fingers crossed!
