Default Door mirror difference

Can someone tell me the difference between the outside door mirrors
the 68-74 vs the 75-81

The mirror head on the 68-74 chrome mirror, is narrower than the head of the 75-79 mirror. I don't have a mirror in front of me to measure, but it's "roughly" something like 4" wide vs 6" wide.

80-82 Corvettes used a pair of painted "sport" type mirrors, which were also available on 77-79 Corvettes as an extra cost option.

Ok, then its only in the head, the arm is the same length?

Yep You will see them listed a small head (68-74) and large head.

So anybody that has switched from the chrome mirrors (68-74)to the sport mirrors (77-82)explain how to and if it can be done im sure it can just want to make sure
