Sean, it wasn't that much when I purchased mine. Anyway, there's a setup some of the guys here are doing, using something else. You will have to ask because I can't remember how they do it Do a search on hydroboost. Hydra-boost is a brand name.
Well I'm sure those guys that make these coil overs have done their homework. Maybe since its a completely different style of suspension, maybe the stiffness isnt required to be as high? Not that I know anything about them...I'll definitely be doing some communication between me and the gentleman at speeddirect. For $2800, it had better be right. Or wait, I could get the $8000+ package, NOT!!!

I know it's probably lost some stiffness in all these decades, but 150 in / lb seems like a lot of spring rate to lose.
I guess once I'm ready to commit I'll have to talk to a tech guy at SpeedDirect. But I'm almost sure a single adjustable shock would suffice for my needs.
Well if my vacuum continues to suffer, I'm going to have to do something...just hope its something cheap and easy...

Sean, here are a couple of links that may help. You will have to ask questions in the tech section on this - it's GM parts? they use mostly. Several here have done it. The corvette forum link gives some good info and I think Yellow73SB may even sell them?
Outstanding! Man, I appreciate all the help...Looks like I'm gonna have to do something if I cant get enough vacuum. Its funny, I can either have good brakes and not enough vacuum to operate the headlights, or, I can rob vacuum from the brakes to work the headlights fine and then the brakes dont work worth a crap. So, lights or brakes? Right now, I'm all for the brakes lol. Just no night time driving unless I wanna go the manual way ALL THE TIME which tends to be a little embarrassing when people are watching you having to push your lights up...
That's too bad you aint a little bit closer...We could get our rides together and go cruise some back roads. Not many C3 vette owners around here(or at least that I've seen).

Sure thing Sean, glad to help. There are a couple of Vette clubs around you, maybe you want to check them out. Our club here in WS has tech sessions, all kinds of stuff. Our prez works for Flow Chevy, parts mgr. Alot of these members are a big help on some of this. BTW, vacuum pump may be a great idea - if I have any vac issues, that's the way I will probably go too.
BTW, we have a cruise-in for Brenner Children's Hospital every Sept or Oct (depends) at the hospital, always great! Live music, good food, bring your Vette, win a door prize. Will keep you in the loop.

Also, Go to the header line above, where it says "User CP" all the way to "Log Out", and under "other" above, click "Tech Tips" C 3. Has several topics. It's there. Explains everything, step by step.
I bought the steeroids set up, works wonderfully when I don’t screw it up. get a new pump or completely rebuild your old one. flushed mine and still it contaminated my rack and ruined it. had to replace that then it worked great again. second make sure you have some one align it properly other wise binding will wear out the u-joint which is the next thin I have to fix. lastly use a rubber mallet and penetrating fluid to remove the tie rod ends other wise you will ruin the soft metal. they are strong just not stronger than a hammer. replaced those with some chromoly steel ones only problem is they don’t seat right and now I have bump steer until I can lath them down to fit right.
all these problems are from my errors so don’t make them your self.
