Finally have my tach drive distributor in. I have a nice, NOS GM tach cable. A nice grommet for the firewall. I'm so close that I can see those RPMs now! Only problem: how on earth do you get the tach fitting through the grommet? I tried warming it in hot water.
Do you just put a slit in the side of the grommet to the hole?
I'm kind of dreading even looking at the AIM to see what the other three holes are for.

There are 4 holes on the gromment for my 71 I cut one of the center dividers and a little soap/water
Thanks Roco, 4 holes in mine too. One is for the tach cable and one for the oil pressure line. What are the other 2 for? Also, the oil pressure line is much smaller than the hole in the grommet. Did you do anything to fill it?

You can use 3m strip caulk often called "dum dum" tape to seal up the gaps.
I cut the edge of my grommet to get my tach cable in. If I were to do it again, I'd probably cut the web in between two holes to make it work and look better.
