Default Reunited once again!

I new I would forget something.... How important are those two foam pads that go on the frame?

I still had a TON of work to do but I told myself I'd rather drive it for a few weeks this year and take the body back off then not drive it at all....

Those things are rust breeders for my car. I have a fairly decent frame on mine, but the worst rust spot on the entire car was where those foam pads are mounted on the frame behind the front wheels. I'm contemplating taking mine out and leaving them out.

Curious to see what others think.

as you can see i would MUCH rather have others chime in and say they're not needed.

As it would involve getting my lift back out, hooking it all back up and lifting it up 6-8 inches....

It may also depend on whether you're running headers or not, I don't have headers. I believe () those foam pads were used to keep heat out of the interior.

Pads are for air restriction to the cab. Not 100% needed, unless you are being judged. You might be able to slip them in, even though the body is back on. Yes they are a rusting problem for the frame, they hold any water in that spot. Your choice.

I guess I can't see how two little foam pads help with air restriction to the cab...

Either way i'm not being judged so that's a for not having to put them on.

I have the exact opposite situation. Where those foam pads were on my frame is the cleanest part of the frame. Infact, it looks nearly brand new.

They are rust sponges.
I left them off my restoration.
