I purchased a set of seats out of an 82 CE for my 76. I successfully installed the seats using my original tracks - still in the car today, 9 years later.

Just remove the tracks and use yours and they should fit fine.

I have a '71 vert, and may use some seats out of an 80. Will my tracks fit the same on these, like my origional seats?

I don't know about the 71 tracks fitting, I do know I had issues with the stock tracks from my 69 fitting the 79 - 82 style seats.

Check your driver's side floor pan for an indentation to clear the driver's power seat motor. I believe all 81 pans had the necessary indent, but check.

If the indentation is there, you can bolt in the power driver's seat.

AIM shows the entire instalation, including the wiring for the seat.

Seat tracks will not help if you cannot clear the power seat motor. Check your driver's side floor pan for the indentation needed to clear the motor. I believe all 81s had the indent, but check.

If the indentation is there, the power driver's seat will bolt in. You must use the power seat track assembly.

AIM shows the entire installation, including the wiring for the power seat.

Mike, thanks for the info. My seats are non-power. Could be from a 79 or 80.
