I want a tilt/tele column for my 69. I am open to non-1969 columns, but cannot recall the differences between the years. I will try to make a listing - can ya'll help? Please correct me if I am wrong - supporting pics are welcomed. Comments on pros/cons.
When did they go to the square housing?
Did wipers ever go to the column???

The link given by 69fastfun has some excellent info.
Beyond what's listed there, the 78-82 column can be adapted for use in your 69. The 78-82 columns are a little shorter, and they have the dimmer switch as part of the turn signal lever.
77 columns are a one year only, and have the wiper controls as part of the turn lever, so they really aren't a good fit for any year other than 77.

Here is a paper on installing a 77 or a 78-82 T&T column into earlier C3Vettes.

Thanks Gents - greatly appreciate.
I will delete the summary above I started.
These papers/references are exactly what I needed.
Jim - do not know what we would do without you.

I can't help you with your 1969, but I can speak favorably for Larry Smith (http://www.corvettecolumns.com/). He does a great job with the columns he sells (not cheap, though) and is very responsive.
I just recently installed one of his tilt/tele columns in my 1971 and it is a great improvement over the standard one. My old column felt loose and the rag joint needed replacing. The rebuilt one is tight and the tilt/tele is worth it.
Good luck with your 1969. I learned a lot removing mine and got into that "while I'm at it" mode and installed power brakes replacing the original manual system. Much easier with the column removed!

Yes - Larry and I spoke on Friday for quite a long time. He and I swapped Corvette stories regarding COrvette shops/people in the Houston Arlington areas. Enjoyed the hell out of it
Sounds like he has built a few columns....
