I started this thread in the Paint section, but I'm certain it hits home with everybody!
Decided yesterday to forget about restoring my two-tone '81 and just paint it bright blue metallic all-over. One of my projects was coping with the ugly, damaged lower front end. Pulled the lower valance (installed years ago by Bubba) and hit it with a heat gun. 30 minutes later it is really straight and after a crack repair it should bolt back up and look fine!
I was coping with paint gun failure, compressor failure and the loss of a good pint of 2K primer this morning. Fixed the compressor, got the gun working but lost the primer as the pot life was 45 minutes.
Redirected my efforts and hit the valance.... I'm good to go now!
Reminds me of my '' open bucket headlight s'' on my 77. For years i could not get them to adjust downward so at night 3 of the 4 was hitting the owls and roof tops, not that I drove it that much anyhow especially at night. I took the square covers off and found and adjusted them as far down as I could. Humm direct hit to on coming drivers. Well a bulb went out and I discovered some tabs on the buckets that needed bolts. The bolts I found out were in all 4 corners and bubba installed the 2 front ones not the 2 rear ones so I went from north to south. After taking car to a vacant shopping mall at night I made the adjustments and now I see straight in front without using high beam and blinding others.
