Default need a answer ????

working on my 81 and just replaced some dash lights !! when i started the car my headlights went up but no headlights and i didnot hit the switch plus sverall gauges are pinned to the right and i just replaced my oil pressure guage when i was putting in new guage lights ??? was up any one know what might have done this thanks ????

More than one problem. You probably jacked up something on the big connector on the back of the dash, easy to do. Watch the little film connections on the flex circuit board, all the power, ground and signals for the insterments run through there. For the headlights, check the vac switch under the steering column, hose off, switch pulled out etc...

m,y guess would be you knocked something off. look for something that is not connected. same thing happened to me when I took out my air ducts in the dash - knocked a wire out of one of the connectors and no brake lights all of a sudden.

there's a switch right under the dash that lets you raise the headlights without turning them on. chances are you accidentally knocked a vacuum line off it or off your headlight switch (very easy to do, I did it when I had my gauges out.) thats probably the reason they came up. not sure about your other issues.
