The way I identified my car as a true L46; the VIN was still on the fourspeed and the fourspeed was an M21, you could only get an M21 with L46.
The tach in my car when I got it was not the 6K redline; which through me for a loop, but after pulling the dash I found someone had installed a speedo and tach out of a 70 Corvette.
There are many big differences between the early and late L46 in 69; so keep that in mind while doing research.
