the longer the tube the better performance. those will be mostly "decorative" and a bit better than the ramshorns, but will not buy you a lot performance wise.
The Chrome will more than likely pit, rust and turn blue in time. As mentioned these are primarily for looks on T-buckets and older cars where full length headers won't fit due to the narrow frame. They are an improvement over the cast iron manifolds but not by much. Ceramic coated headers will last the longest and offer slightly cooler underhood temps. Painted headers if stripped and repainted with Hi temp exhaust paint are a good economic alternative.
Bill Hirsch header paint works awesome. I see ceramic coated headers pit and rust. The paint seems to work really well and is easy to touch up. I have run it on my big block BUICK headers for 4-5 years now. Still looks new. Run it down the strip many times and no issues with peeling or flaking.
