Cool, there is a lot of power to be made. With the stock heads a simple cleanup and port job with the right head porter can really wake up the ls3 heads.
And I thought there was a lot of cam selection for a Gen 1 SB. Seems like everyone has their own vodoo cam specs to make the LS motors perform. The selection is endless on cam specs.
LS3's are awesome engines, congratulation. Head flow on these is nothing short of amazing. I run a C6 ZO6 on road track days, and the LS3 cars are basically glued to my bumper. Think you'll be having some fun with this one.
Really not agreeing with a few of the posts here. An LS3 has 80 more hp than an LS1, and no way near double. Had a C5 myself, and while very fast, didn't find it all all scary. My current LS7 cars a different story. Not to fond of the shown track cars idle, but sure does run. Anyway you're gonna love this engine.

Yes but put a decent cam in it and a good tune on the computer and it will have more HP than a Z06. torque will be about on par with a Z06. that car int he video just has a cam installed and maybe head cleanup but that is all. It dynoes at around 520 to the wheels. You wont get an LS1 to put up those numbers without major work. Im not downgrading the LS1 the the 3 and the 7 have the heads to make good HP.
This is going to be a very interesting thread I plan to follow.
What kind of drive train upgrades are necessary to handle the power?
Looking forward to following the progress.
