Aftermarket shifter....?
Hi guys...I'm on to my second vette, this time a all original numbers matching 4-speed 327/350hp 68'. My dad has an old 1966 Vert that he use to road race..... anyhow, as I grew up driving this car...i want that shifter feel. He has a Hurst "super competition shifter" as he calls it.Hurst list on the web site a Competition shifter, which I would think thats what hes got. But I really like the stock shifter the look and all that. Does anyone know if I am able to retain it? the stock shifter handle that is.

Congratulations. An all original numbers matching 68 is a rare thing. My advice is to leave it alone and don't fool with it. If you modify it, it won't be original any more.
