79 headlights stopped working

79 headlights stopped working
hey guys, the other night i noticed that my left headlight had stopped working, and today when i checked it out both have stopped. headlights pop up and down fine, it is the actual lamp. both turn signals are still working. all bulbs are still in tact. i have had a play around but cant get my head around it. all help appreciated

Did you try changing the the lamps?

the lamps are fine, when they pop up the right one flashes on and then off for less than a second.

Have you checked the fuse? Have you checked the wiring harness connectors on the rear of each lamp?

I would still check the lamps before doing anything else

i have pulled the wiring harness off the lamps and they are fine, can someone clarify which is the headlight fuse

i now have the high beams working, but not the normal lights so that means that lamps are fine, fuse is fine, maybe the switch?

I would still swap out the lamp with a known good one....just to be absolutely sure. Pete
