79 Corvette Half shaft removal
So I'm trying to rebuild my u joint and I've unbolted all the nuts and bolts on both ends but I can't get em to budge....Ideas? Does the car need to be on jacks to do this? Right now its on ramps.

STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 
The half shafts are a heavily loaded component of the suspension under tremendous force. Carefully lift the car as-is- do not try to roll it back and forth or go underneath it until it is well clear of the ground and supported on jack stands.
