The mags looked great on the car when it was steel city gray ( pewter ).

Now its electric blue pearl and they don't look right, will be keeping the mags but need some input on painting the vanes, black?, or electric blue like the car?.

Any suggestions and or pics appreciated.

The wheels still look good, and "period correct". I suggest you simply buff up the machined part, and make them shine.

I had a similar set of wheels, back in the 70s. I took the wheels off the car for the winter, and one day when I had nothing to do, I dug out a sanding block and some fine sandpaper and started to smooth out the spokes. As usual, I was thinking it would take an hour or so, per wheel...yeah, right!!

Nonetheless, after several more afternoons of sanding and polishing, I had the spokes glistening. I then painted the rough cast area between the spokes black, but in my case, the car was black.

I would say black or a very dark gray. The body color was sort of a late 70's/80's thing.

So you polish up the bright areas and paint the cast areas the same color as the body. What do you think? Brand new custom look - not much money.

Yup, Old School, and if you don't like it, it's easy to go to black.

Thanks for the pic mn leaf fan, the mags look nice black.
Good idea about buffing up the machined areas.
As UberLegend says Old school look, just what i wanted.
Will probably go with satin or matte black.

Thanks to all for the info.

The wheels were black when I bought the car. (That pic is from the day I bought it ) While I like the black, I'd prefer if they were a satin black. When I get that far down my to-do list, I plan to freshen them up.

Gunmetal would like very good with blue. You could also go with a bright aluminum/silver and that would look good also.
