Default Starting problem ?

Please forgive this question as it may have an obvious answer - I just wanted to know your opinion. I don’t use my 70 often. Plugs and points are fairly fresh (less than 750 miles). If the car sits for 5 weeks or longer, how hard should it be to start? I went to start it last night and it almost got to the point I really thought something was wrong. It did eventually start and then restarted without an issue later on. Your thoughts? Thanks

Sounds okay. After sitting five weeks, it probably would not fire up on the first go. It's also easy (for me, anyway) to flood these cars after they've been sitting.

I would expect my 81 to be a bit cranky if it's not been started for 5 weeks. I run it at least once a week, even in winter, to keep it happy. Your normal restart later is a good sign.

Can you give more detail about how it started the first time?

My car sits for at least 4 weeks at a time..Gotta crank and pump it a few tries before it starts. No big deal. Been that way for years, but ALWAYS fires up. My El Camino is the same way. Sits for months at a time.
