Default Enjoying your car

A local Corvette club sponsored an auto-cross today in Fairmont, West Virginia. The event was well attended (20 cars competing), but the thing that I found to be very cool was the number of c3s that were there and the drivers were driving them like they were stolen

It was so cool to see those guys really having fun in those cars and (I know I will catch crap for this), but the older chevy small blocks sound so much better than the newer LS series engines. I own both a 78 L48 and a 2008 C6 and LOVE the sound of an older small block breathing through a set of headers and flowmasters!

A fellow even had a well used 78 Pace Car that was doing quite well.

Congrats to all who enjoyed hanging their cars out there- especially those C3 drivers who are not afraid to pound on 'em !!

Listen to an LS motor breathing through a decent exhaust system. The newer exhaust I do not like either. Having driven and listened to an LS motor without cats and newer exhaust I can tell you the sound is equal to if not better than a GEN1 SB. I like the sound of both with the right exhaust.

I do enjoy also flogging the heck out of my C3 on the autoX and wish I had more chances to do it. I am able to stay wit the C5 and C6 cars on the autoX and feel pretty good that I can do that. i do have a good amount of HP and muscle my way around the track but it sure is fun. Take a ride with a SCCA driver and see how it should be done and it really opens your eyes to the practice it takes to be good and consisyant.
