I have been messing around with carbon fiber for a while now and was looking at parts that I already have that could be replaced by CF parts.
One of the ideas I came up was the spreader bar , the original is powder coated mild steel and it was looking a bit tired. It was peeling in spots and was not digging the semi-gloss black look anyway.
So with some 1” ID CF tube (this is real gloss fabric stuff, not a veneer or a vinyl, from one of the top CF manufacturers in the country) and 2 5/8 threaded bungs epoxied into the ends. I then smoothed and cleared it.
Now due to the fact that I had to order a custom ID and thickness, the minimum order was a 72” length…so I have enough to make some more. So if anyone’s interested in a little bit of carbon fiber in their engine bay, drop me a PM.
Some crappy pictures from my phone..will post better pictures later.
maybe you can make some rear CF strut rods with the rest
ha ha! You read my mind. I went into some lengthy conversations with a tech from Art Morrison over that idea and its not going to happen. Though it is a strange coincedence that the inner id of the CF tube I have is 1", exactly the same as the OD of the heim jointed strut rods I have on the rear of my car...so they would make for a really nice (and somewhat expensive) vaneer for those if no one wants the spreader bars.

Looks cool, I like it!
What would it cost? I have a VBP bar that it would be replacing.
I tried to get a better picture of the bar now its been cleared, sanded and (somewhat) polished. The ends are bare mild steel..so can be cleared to stay that way..or (as in my case)painted semi-flat black. I can also do custom logo's (airbrushed or vinyl) on the spreader...so something like "Chevrolet" or "Corvette" or "my other cars a Prius" type things
