Finally got my 1972 on the racetrack
After a lot of work last winter everything at last came together and i got to test my car on the track last weekend.
The yearly Swedish Corvette club championschip was held at Mantorp Park Raceway.

I also did two runs on the dragstrip.
Both runs where against C5:s and one of those was a Z06.
Despite running on the slippery BFG:s i won both races.
Heres a video of my first run.
Eeeaaasy on the throttle..

My engine is a balanced 4-bolt GenV 454 with 088 large port iron heads (unported but smothed) and its close to being a modern "LS6 replica".
Good valves and rockers etc.
New repro LS6 intake manifold with a Holle 780DP carb.
Mild hydraulic roller cam, runs on ordenary unleaded fuel, shifts at 5600rpms, rev limiter set to 6000rpm.
Pulls good from 2500rpm.
Its built to be a reliable "street" engine becouse its where its driven 95% of the time.
Its a good strong engine that i think suit my full weight Vette qite OK as a multi purpouse cruising and trackday tool.
It made 462,7hp/5600rpm in the dyno with the aircleaner and mufflers attached.
Front and rear suspension are VBP dualmount springs, they are both set to the second stiffest settings.
Shocks are the ordenary Bilstein HD:s.
I also run VBP upper tubular A-arms.
I run a VBP 1-1/8 front sway bar and no swaybar in the rear (as i been recommended on this forum) and it appeared to work well.
Brakes are stock 1972 apart from steelbraided hoses and the Porterfield Race front pads that made a ton of difference compared to the stock ones.
But im still not 100% happy with the performance of the brakes.
My plans for the next winter are to upgrade to Wilwoods and to add some air cooling to the front brakes.
Steeroids rack and pinion whith modified brackets (great improvement).
I also reinforced some spots of the frame in the front end while the engine was out.
If there are anything else ill be glad to give you what information i have.
There is some pictures of the car in my garage:

Wicked ride. That C2 made me cringe a couple of times hoping he wouldn't lose it. Then I watched your drag race. I have to tell you I have a surround sound system hooked up to my PC with a subwoofer. The sound of your car made me smile. After the video my wife said "what the hell was that?" That made me smile that much more. Thanks for sharing.

The C2 is a fearly modified car with a tuned C4 LT1 that pulls to 6500rpms.
It has won the "Oldies" Club Championship the last couple of years.
But not this time..
