So I was driving down the road in my 79 L82, looking pretty cool for a 19 year old. Then out of no where my windshield wipers turn on and start wiping on a 109 degree Texas day.
Coolness factor gone.
I thought I had the wipers on "OFF", but it seems that I do not know where "OFF" is. No matter where I put the wiper switch the wipers keep wiping.
Where is the actual OFF position for the wipers, and if that isn't it, any thoughts on what could be the problem?
As I have since turned 20, I have left the realm of self-centeredness and come to you rather humbled since windshield wipers in the sun pretty much kill the cool factor.
You probably have intermittent wipers. Staight down is off. Turning the **** clockwise ? Brings on the intermittent feature. ( It might be counterclockwise - I don't have access to the car right now)

If he has pulse wipers its possible the controller failed in the shift console.... If the switch is all the way down and the wipers are on I would sure take a look at this.
In the mean time, to preserve the coolness factor....
Unplug the three wire connection at the wiper motor.. just pry it doesn't rain.
