Default does anyone recognize these?

I'm working on the interior of a '70 coupe, and don't know what these are. The first one
this is in the top center of the gague cluster, and slides in and out.

The second one
This appears to be wired into the console harness.

Can anyone tell me what these might be?

For the top picture, see here:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-g...sing-here.html

as for the second pic, looks like a bubba add-on. could be wrong. I do see a plugged up vac hose just to the right in the wires. Hmmm. Maybe someone more experienced should get this one

Does the car have an aftermarket "hidden" amp or stereo? My volume **** is positioned there and my friend has an on/off switch mounted there for his - just a thought. Or an aftermarket alarm switch?

no sir, no aftermarket stereo or alram that I know of. The car has been idle in my garage for 20 plus years, just now getting it back on the road. Before I parked it, I had a wiring harness replaced, and I'm thinking that this was put in for something, but have no idea what. There's not just a wire or two, there are several, and they look like they are coming out of the harness. Based on what y'all have told me, it's going to be non=factory; now just to figure out what....

perhaps its a way to visible cut off for power.. security style? no power gets to coil unless it is in on position?

Oh my God, I haven't thought of those things in years. I remember helping a buddy put one in his '58 Chevy in high school, and yes it was an old car then....but not that old.

I had something similar on my 71

I traced the wires and it went from the fuse box acc plug to the switch and then up to the horn. I have since removed the switch.

First pic is fresh air vent for non-AC cars.

Second pic is a non-stock owner addition.

I've seen an under dash switch like that to operate backup lights.

On the top picture I don't know what that pull out is but I don't think it's factory. AC cars have a center vent, non AC cars have a block off plate with letters spelling CORVETTE to cover this area.

My 71 center cluster w/ac vent.

And beneath the CORVETTE lettering on the non-AC plate is the little plastic vent the OP posted.

Ahh I see that...just learned something. Is that a vent or an open/close for one?

It just ducts outside air through the bottom of the bezel. It does not open or close by itself. Air flow controlled by the thumb wheels.
