hey I just want someone who knows something about corvettes ( since i dont know crap yet about them except that I LOVE mine..lol ) but I am going to replace the vacuum hoses for AC and just want to make darn sure I am ordering the correct kit for her..here is a link to vette shop would someone please let me know if it is correct 1.....oh my is a 1979 model.......thanks in advance... http://www.zip-corvette.com/ProductD...GR-SR&CTitle=&
I previously ordered a vacuum hose set for my 71 from Zip and found that about every hose in the kit had a different diameter in/out as compared to the originals that came off the car. I then ordered a set from Dr. Rebuild...much better quality and just about dead on with comparison to the originals. Not telling you what to do, but I think you will be pleased with Dr. Rebuild's kit!
well thats part of the problem I have Ganey...I know that there of at least 1 hose off and missing from under dash and a white 1 coming thru firewall that is dry rotten and broke.....what concerns me is the motor was replaced with a new crate motor about 2000 miles ago by former owner and I am not sure what hoses have been ripped out , broke off, or just pulled off and not replaced..... I do know that the hose coming from heater by pass valve is wrapped around it and hanging down. To be honest I am about to freak out here because i have an AIM for car but heck i dont even know where to begin as far as do i have to remove dash to gte to these lines....if so where do i start ..etc. etc.......oh btw i had 2 different peeps who are vette freaks locally who was going to help me out with advice and knowledge and guess what.......all of a sudden they are not returning my phone calls.......
If you are not restoring to stock, replace the one to heater valve w/ hose or you can get tubing for ex. at aquarium places. The source vacuum black tube rnay need replacing under hood.
Interior: Console pass. side can be removed for access to control switch & tubes. You can check behind glove box & under pass. carpet for tube problems.
thanks guys I am not too concerned about restoring to originall but just thought with AIM I have on car that it might be easier to be able to trace the hoses out if i went back to color codes..plus they are not that expensive
