OK guys I am or want to change my name here but I dont see where in CP I can do this. I dont want to lose any of my status or post counts by changing it......is this possible????

It is possible, at least it was several years ago. IIRC you have to contact one of the moderators and ask them to change your name. The change will propogate to all of your previous posts so you won't lose anything.
