I have them also. I believe it is an alignment issue. I plan to take mine apart and put in a new window kit(rollers etc) and do a re-alignment. While out, I am going to get one of the heavy duty scratch removing kits from Eastwood and give it a try.
I suspect either grit on the window bumper, the padded one which contacts the glass, keeps the window from rattling or possibly the felt edging on the door panel or door. A worn bumper may do this (padded piece).
well I guess the next logical question would be ,
How do I fix the scratches ( If possible)?
Also , is the reproduction glass as thick as the oem glass ?
20 years ago i bought some repops and they were so thin I had to send them back and hunt for good stock pieces.
...if you can feel the scratch, it can't be polished out...
True in my case. I was able to polish out some of the scratches on my original door glasses, but not all. I replaced the fuzzies and chose to keep my original glass.
I'm planning on giving my doors a birthday present while changing out the door panels.
Replacing the rollers and felts, etc..
I also have some scratches on the passenger window.
Can someone suggest a list of all the "suggested" wear parts I should order at once.
As I have never had a door apart.
I have power windows if that makes a big difference.

I just replaced my windshield, bought the new one from Pilkington (through OEM Glass which is now out of business). Another poster on this forum has recently as well. The quality was good. Pilkington bought LOF glass in the 80's (I think), they have the original patterns. If you need glass, maybe check them out, see what they may provide for dimensions on the door glass?

Same as Luke i am going to do everything right but additionally in the end i will put DynaMat after that, so i would prefer not to miss anything. Already ordered all door wire harnesses, those cushions mentioned above and lift track rebuild kits. Anything else that wears out is good to have replaced before DynaMat installation?

I was happy with my dated '69 windshield from OEM a couple years ago, but I have been unhappy with the replacement glass I've seen.
I managed to score a nice correctly dated RH roadster glass in Carlisle 2 years ago, but I've been completely unsuccessful in finding nice LH properly dated glass so far. Struck out in Carlisle this year. They either have the vertical scratches (gouges) or there's a chip in the top edge, or both.
If you can catch your fingernail on the scratch at all, don't bother trying to fix it.
I think i'll try a set of OEM door glass tinted and dated .
Another poster on this board reported OEM glass is out of business. They were distributing windshields from Pilkington, the outfit which bought LOF glass in the 80's. I don't know what the quality of their door glass may be. Vettebuyer5869 reported being dissatisfied with door glass from OEM glass, may have actually been Pilkington? Don't know.

No- I wasn't clear- I got my W/S glass from OEM. I bought door glass from an outfit here in town, not sure who the maker was. Not happy with it, but it was a few years ago.

If you tint the window you won't see the scratches unless they are really bad. Just an option if it helps. Your tint will get scratches later though unless you fix the problem that caused it to begin with.
