Can you paint wrapped headers?

I've used this on my old car for a downpipe. The wrap kept drying out from rain and i'd have to re-wrap it every 6 months or so. This just seals it off and keeps water/oil from getting in it. I'd recommend this over the hitemp paint, I never tried the hitemp paint on header wrap though.
