Mine has never left Michigan. Frame and birdcage are like new. It's not all where it is from. How it is taken care of is important too!
True but generally speaking if the car was driven during the winter months, salt does a number on the steel. Same phenomenon I'd imagine if the car were near the ocean for long periods, pick up some salt spray? I had my best luck with a steel body car bought from Southern California. A quick look at the under carriage may give you an idea whether it's clean like new or has been rusted a bit. There are plenty of postings showing a potential buyer what to look for when looking for rust issues.
LOL I am going to get C3 but after all my reading and the threads on here I am for sure checking everywhere I can for rust.......I thought a fiberglass car would have less lol.
Anyway thanks for all the comments and suggestions

Wasn't yours stored in a museum for a couple of decades? BTW, mine looked like new also. Damage was inside out. You can really never be certain unless you have stripped your car down. The windshields tend to leak, which causes windshield frame holes, then the water runs down the front arm of the cage. You could have serious rust in there and never know.
