Recently I purchased a rebuilt wiper motor
for my 72 vette. After installing one more thing to do hook teh wiper blades to the motor . Upon doing this I disacovered that the to hook the wipers to is a 5/16 nut .Problem is my old motor was set up using a 1/4 nut which obviously won't fit . Called the place I bought it from and was told corvette's all use the standard 5/16 nut . suggested I grind my wipewr arms out to accept the 5/16 . Seems to me that everything was setup for 1/4 inche it had to come from the factory like this .Any info or help to solve this problem would be very much appreciated and I wanted to know if anybodies c3 had this setup .Thanks ahead of time

Reason: grammar
could not find any info about differant size shaft in windshield wiper so I took the smaller shaft out of my old wiper motor and put it in the new one . problem solved for now .If anybody could solve the riddle of why old shaft is smaller appreceiate any comment .the shaft is smaller that makes the hole in wiper transmission smaller to .
