Default casting # info?

my '68 has the following on the deck plate CE8
casting # 39841321
I know it is a factory warranty replacement engine but can anyone expand on the above casting number?
I can't find anything on line and the black book just covers orig. #'s.
Thanks,
Marshal

By 'deck plate' do you mean stamp pad in front of the R/H cylinder head? If so, the 39841321 is not a casting number.

'CE' engine were also sold as over the counter crate engines so yours may or may not have been a warranty replacement.

Mike
thanks for replying.
I'm sorry I was not clearer.
The plate has CE8
Side of the block has # 39841321.
I was wondering if any info as to month of manufacture was avail
in 1968 for this motor?
I guess you can say it's correct for the year.

Block casting number 39841321 does not exist. Is it actually 3916321? If so, get the casting date from the other side of the block to see if it's correct for that year.
