So, the original weatherstrip in my '78 is really in bad shape, so it needs to be removed and replaced. Have been looking at the major retailers and I see 2 different kits. On just says weatherstrip not much info on material type, while the other (and more expensive) says Latex weatherstripping. Is it worth the cost difference to do Latex? What is the advantage/disadvantage between these types of kits?
Latex was used at the factory. It's a little softer and seals better than some of the available varieties.
Are you intending to paint the car? If so, hold up on the weatherstripping until after paint.
Thanks for the info, and yes I do plan on painting it and yes I was going to hold up. Just had some expendable cash and figured since I had some extra funds may as well get it now and have for after the car is painted.
