Default Gauge bezel stuck!

Hey guys. New to forum with a stupid question. Im trying to remove gauge bezel on 1980 to fix clock. Took all 6 screws out, removed clock dial, but bezel doesnt want to budge. Scared of breaking it. What to do? Thanks!

Thought you might say that. There is a bulb in top, I lift the cluster over the console & pull bottom out first, typically it is tight.

Default Quick p/antenna question

Hi again. Im taking 1980 l82 to shop to get out of province insp. ,appraisal for ins. And hedmam ceramic coated headers and magnaflow tru duals put on. Should I get mechanic to fix antenna while exhaust is off or is it something I can access after the fact? The garage specializes in corvettes and assures me they have the parts required to fix

Out of province inspection? Obviously you must be in Canada. Do you live where they require a vehicle emissions test? If so, I'd be curious to find out how you make out. I'm in B.C. and I have to deal with the notorious Air Care mafia. I'd like to go duals, but I'm always interested to hear how other Vette owners get through the screening.

Woodsman: purchase the 80 assembly instruction manual (AIM) and chassis service manual. Do you have an owner's manual? Order one of those, too.

Trust me.

Yeh, I live in alberta and there are no emissions ***** here. No test required. I feel a little guilty as I do care about our envrionment.oh well, ill just recycle more to compensate. Im sure ill get over it. The plane ride I took to denver to buy the car probably pumped out more pollution than I will in my
Lifetime.

Hi easy mike, thanks for the tip. I do have the original owners manual, bill of sale, and all service records to date plus about 5 service manuals but theyre all geared towards the mechanical aspect. The assembly manual sounds great.where could I find one?

Pick your favorite aftermarket provider. All of them carry the AIMs.

Need help with the bezel removal. I have taken the 4 screws out so the top portion seems loose. The bottom of the bezel, below the radio is still tightly attached. How do I get the bottom loose? Are there screws somewhere I cannot see? Please help me!

you do see that the top part and the bottom are screwed together. You have to stand on your head to see it but trust me they are. ...

Do you have to come in from behind the bezel at the bottom?

For 78?
You need to remove the carpeted side panels from the console.
Screws are up from below.

Also don't forget the nuts under the radio *****. They may not look like nuts at first glance. they may be round with notches in them. Long nose pliers works to remove them.
